Science Seekers: Hidden in Rocks

Investigation 2

We made sedimentary rock with two colors of wax in a zip bag and we pressed them with our hand very hard. It was all squished together. ...Bryan  The experiment was fun because I now know how sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks are made. ·Ashlie
Being able to understand sedimentary rock, metamorphic rock and igneous rock better is good. ·Taylor
To make a model of Sedimentary Rock we used a crayon and wax in a bag and we pressed it all together. They got all mixed and clumpy. The crayon fossil looked the same. ·Brooke Ann To make a metamorphic rock you need preshor and intense heat. To make sedimentary rock tiny bit of pebels and rock are squeezed together. ...Travis
Our group did get along exsept for two people. Otherwise we got along. We used pressure to make sedimentary rock. We used pressure and hot water to make metamorphic rock. We used a lot of hot water to make Igneous rock and it looked like all the same color. ·Jeremy
What I found interesting about this investigation is that the rocks change to other forms all the time. We made models of each using wax. To make metamorphic rock we put the wax in water that was 168 degrees F and then squeezed it together. It was melted and stuck together. It looked all squishey. ·Lauren Yes, this experiment was worth while and I learned about these three rocks better. ·Yumi

I kind of liked the experiment. I think we did well. Nobody argued and we all participated. ·Cameron
