Electrical Conductivity

We tested objects to determine whether it was a conductor or an insulator.

First we had to make a complete circuit with the wires, bulb and battery.

We predicted which items would conduct electricity.

We tested the following objects: toothpick, penny, copper strip, plastic straw, paper clip, rubber band, cardboard strip, aluminum foil strip.
We recorded our observations in a chart and classified the objects as conductors and insulators. We noted what each group had in common.
List five additional items you think would conduct electricity.

List five additional items you think would NOT conduct electricity.

Why do you think electrical cords in your home are covered with an insulator?
