Notes about Mrs. Eldridge's
Reading Class

Reading & Lessons

Each of the selections in our Explore text has an AR test and an essay test. You are expected to read carefully and pass both types of test. Many selections are non-fiction. It is very important that you read these even more carefully than the fiction selections.

Three Novels Each Marking Period

In addition, you are expected to read three novels and pass the AR tests for each during each of the four marking periods. Novels should be AR, reasonably long, and at your reading level. Check with the teacher to see whether a novel is acceptable. Most classroom "paperbacks" have a sticker saying they are AR. If you do not know whether a book is AR check the computer before you read.
