The Fifth Graders Collected 6 Boxes of Food for the Food Pantry during the month of October 2003

at the Food Pantry This year when we go to Food Pantry we usually push carts to the people’s cars and help them unload their food. The whole reason for the food pantry is so the people that don’t have enough money to buy food at markets can go to the church and get enough food for the family for a month. Last year in Fourth Grade we went to food pantry too, but we did different things. We would stand behind the counter and help pass out food to the people. If we were early enough, we could help unload the truck. I am glad we get to work for the Common Good. I hope I can help people for the rest of my life. |
Food Pantry Collection We did a food pantry contest in October. Altogether we had 6 boxes. I had a lot of fun…Logan Last week we did food pantry. Out of the two fifth grades we had 6 boxes. My group was in second place with 35 cans. I hope that we can do that again…Jessie

Food Pantry Food Pantry helps lots of people that can’t afford to buy food for themselves and their families. Last year in Fourth Grade we helped set up the food for the people. We would unload boxes of food off a big truck. Then we would organize the food. To do this we had to skip recess and lunch with our friends, but that’s ok because food pantry was fun. This year in Fifth Grade we help the people that come to get the food from the Food Pantry. We help push the carts loaded with food and help put the food in their cars. We also help hand out the food to the people. I'm glad I have been able to help at the Food Pantry. |
