 Selecting Instruments What I liked about getting an instrument is I got to look at it and see what little buttons there were. My instrument is the clarinet. I got to see it. You could get a wooden or a plastic instrument. I got a plastic clarinet. I borrowed an instrument from the school. The three choices you had were to borrow one from the school, to buy one from Marshall's Music, or to bring an instrument from home if you had one. I'm glad we have band! ...Ashlie M.

Beginning Band My favorite subject in school is band. I like band a lot this year because we got to pick our instruments. I am going to play the clarinet, and I am very excited to play it. It seems a little complicated but I think I can handle it. We didn't start yet, but I think were going to start sometime in October. Mrs. Smith, the band teacher, is really nice, and I can't wait till we get to play the instruments. The clarinet has a lot of buttons on it but I still want to play it. I'm going to try it out for about 8 weeks to 2 months and if I don't like it I can change to the alto saxophone. I think the clarinet is going to be a lot of fun to play.
