Mrs. Eichberger's
Class Makes Paper Valentines

February 2004

Our class made homemade paper for Valentine's Day. We used the paper to make Valentines for our parents.

First we ripped paper  into tiny pieces.

Then we blended it with water in a blender to make the pulp.

Next we put in the pulp in a vat of water and dipped out screens in to make a sheet.

Kayla Feil's dad visited our class to explain how paper was made at local paper and packaging plant.

Finally, we squeezed out the water onto a piece of wool and let it dry.

We loved the way the pulp felt. We could've played with it all day!

We made pink and lavendar paper.

We wrote Valentine's messages to our parents.
