This week Dr. Suess came in to talk about him self. He said that the whole Dr. Suess stuff started when he was a kid that in art he drew all sorts of stuff but it was not a good drawing. His art teacher said his drawings were not good and that hurt his feelings. When he got home he thought about drawing a cat with a hat witch was the Cat in the Hat. He drew all sorts of stuff that you see in Dr. suess books.

When he got older he wanted to right books. The books were Dr. Suess books. He was really famous. That is how there was Dr. Suess.

I thought Mr. Stroup was really good at being Dr. Seuss. He told us some stories. He told us how many words there were in Cat in the Hat. I think it was 54.  Also he wrote The Cat in the Hat Returns. He writes really good books. I hope he comes back. ...Jared

I thought it was kind of neat that Mr. Stroup came and portrayed Dr. Seuss. Mr. Stroup used to teach English at Onekama. He used to direct plays. That's probably what made him interested in portraying people. He told us the story about And to think that I Saw it on Mulberry Street. That was a street in his hometown. I think it was Springfield, Massachusetts. ...Logan
