Football News
Kevin

In football we ran laps in the rain and mud. We also did forty-yard dashes. A kid on our team ran the forty-yard dash in 5.4 seconds. I’m on the gold team. My number is 37. My position on the team is a right guard. On the play 14 option right dive I block the running back. When we call the play 15 option right dive I just protect the quarter back from getting tackled. On a couple of plays I keep line backers from getting across the line. I think the most painful thing is getting tackled by someone twice your size.

Duck Tape
Joe

Foot ball Is a fun sport to play. The people that I can remember that play on my team our Kevin, Brandon ,Thomas and Chase. My number is 22. The fuinest part is when I had my pants duck taped so they would not fall down. The pads I wear are shoulder, helmet knee and thy pads.

Football Practice
Ryan

I play football because there are a lot of my friends there like Joe, Cody, Brandon, and many more. I think we are all going to have broken bones at the end of the football season. Cody and I tackle each other so our heads get ripped off. The biggest and strongest is Jon Busk. I hope I don't get tackled by Jon.

This is the best sport ever! I am the running back of the team. The equipment gets tiring keeping it on. You have to wear pads and helmets. It's so dang hot in the helmet.

The worst part is getting tackled. I don't much like it but it is part of the game. I have to run very fast to get away when I am carrying the ball. If they tackle me I fall to the ground. That’s what I like and dis like about football.

The Little Helmet
Gus

At football practice something unusual happened. A kid got a helmet and shoved it on. He said it was not very comfortable, but he said it was alright so he tried to take it off, but it just wouldn’t come off. Me and one of my friends pulled and pulled, but it wouldn’t budge. We were at the point where we said he would wear it forever. Finally (after ten minutes) we got it off. The coach Jerry Brown and Ms. Block got him a new one.

Thomas, Josh, Dan, Mike, Jake, & Jon are ready for action.

Football Collie Dogs
Danny

My dad coaches the fifth grade football team his name is Jerry Brown, he is only coaching because I am playing. He made up two really good workouts that we have to do with our pads, helmet, and jerseys on. He calls them Collie Dogs, you have to put your knee up at ninety degrees. Then you put your leg out as strait out as possible, and you do that five times. The last time you do it you have to shake it five times while your leg is in the out. The other Collie Dog method is the same thing but you move your leg side to side and your leg is still ninety degrees. I think Collie Dogs are fun, hard, and challenging. A day after you do Collie Dogs you are usually pretty sore.
