Without books the world would be boring. School would be harder and you would have nothing to do on long road trips. These are four people who support the ideas of books.

Ben Franklin got members from the Junto Association to help him buy books. Each person gave a little money. In the end they bought lots of books. Every year they would buy more new books.

Andrew Carnegie was the richest man in the world. He thought that all people should have access to books so he built libraries. He used $135,000,000 dollars to build 2,000 libraries.

Bill Gates was a very smart man. He was also one of the richest men in the world. He invented the Windows computer. Other PC’s were hard to use so he invented an easier one. He also gave computers to libraries so poor people could use them.

Onekama 5th graders have a book sale every year. If you want a book and don’t have enough money to buy it, you can buy it for 10 cents at our book sale. All of these people contributed to the common good.
