I Promise to Say No to Drugs: D.A.R.E. Essay

Joe F.

I will make my promise to my family because I think that they will listen to me. I promise them because if I ever did do drugs they would be the first to know. If someone ever tried to get me to do drugs my parents would be proud that I kept my promise and said no. My parents would be really, really, really, really mad if I did do drugs or went to a party without their permission.

I will keep my promise by picking good friends and making good decisions. I will hang out with friends that I trust and I know don’t do drugs. I will be in more activities like sports and quiz bowl. I also would tell my mom and dad all the places I go and who I am with

This promise is important because if I did do drugs I would get kicked off the sports team. If I smoked it would cost a lot more money for insurance. It would be hard to keep a job if I got drunk a lot, because I might stay out late and be really tired at work or not come at all. If I got caught drunk driving I might not be able to drive again or I could go to prison. Being drug free is a lot cooler than having your parents mad at you or going to prison or losing your job or paying more for insurance. I know that I will never do drugs because they affect every one around you and your self. I feel good about being drug free.

I Promise to Say No to Drugs: D.A.R.E. Essay

Katherine

I promise all of my siblings to never do drugs. I am promising all this to my brothers and sisters because I trust them so much and they really care what happens to me. I intend on keeping this promise forever. If anybody ever asks me if I want any I will automatically say NO. Drugs can ruin your life. I think it is an incredibly stupid idea to use them. I will never ruin my life on such a stupid thing. Adults and teenagers all over the world are killing themselves by using drugs. I feel horrible about this but I know it is there fault because they are the ones who used drugs and did it to them selves. If any one in my class ever gives a hint that they are even thinking about using drugs I will try my hardiest to convince them not to. In school I have been working incredibly hard on book bowl and quiz bowl and a lot of other fun activates. Drugs would ruin all of this in a snap.

I will always keep this promise by doing a number of things. First of all I will pick good friends. I will pick friends I can trust and that I know will never ask or tempt me to do drugs. I am going to pick friends that I think won’t be using drugs in two to three years. I will pick friends that are going to be loyal and trust worthy to me. Another thing I will do to keep this promise is make good decisions. If someone asks me to do drugs I will say no. If some one asks me to come to their house were there might be alcohol I will say no. That is making good decisions. I am not going to waste my life on such a stupid thing0. Another one of the big things I will do to keep my promise is keep a good support system. If somebody asks me to do drugs and I’m not sure I could go to my friends and my family to see what they say. The last thing I am going to do to keep my promise is talk to people I trust. Sometime it feels better to get things off by talking. Those are the main things I am going to do to keep my promise.

I think this will be the most important promise I ever make. I am saving my life by doing this. When I grow up I want to be a pediatrician. I also want to move to some where big and cool where I can have a farm for all of my horses. I want to go to a nice big collage and live in a small cottage. I want to go on vacation twice a year and see my family every so often. I want to get married and have two children. If I ever tried drugs all of my hopes and dreams would be ruined. I would be living a horrid lonely life in jail next to the rest of the drug attics. I can choose my own life and make my own decisions. I defiantly don’t choose the life in jail. This is my own life and nobody is going to ruin it for me. I am going to make good decisions and live my life right. If I ruin my life no one can fix it for me. I’m ruining every thing for myself. I absolutely promise every thing and every one I will never ever do that.

Pledging to say no to drugs

Jonathan

I promise, Mom and Dad, that I will not take drugs. If I do take drugs I will tell you right away. I will also help other people not to take drugs, and if someone is trying to get someone to take drugs I will stand up for that person and help them say no. That is my promise to you.

I plan to keep this promise in many different ways. One way I will keep it is to have good friends like the ones I have right now who won’t try to get me to take drugs, and who will help me say no, when I’m pressured to take drugs by someone else. I will also make good decisions when someone asks me if I want to try drugs by giving them the cold shoulder or a constant no, if they don’t stop asking. Another thing I will do is keep a good support system and supporting my answer with a reason like, "I don’t want to get cancer," or some other excuse. After that I will make sure I know all my rights like the right to say no and the right to walk away. Finally I will talk to people I trust like my mom, dad, sisters, close friends (Jake Danny chase…), and relatives.

I think this is an important promise to keep. It is important because if I don’t it will hurt my grades in school which will make my chances of a good career very slim. It will also let me have a good place to live because I’m not wasting all my money on drugs. After that I think it is important to say no because I don’t want it to affect other people with second hand smoke. Another thing that will happen if I don’t keep my promise is that I will probably either get cancer or die and I don’t want either of those to happen. That is why it is very important to keep this promise not to do drugs.

I Promise to Say No to Drugs: D.A.R.E. Essay

Kevin

I promise my mom that I will not do drugs or when I get a car I will not drink and drive. I promise my mom because she did not ever drink and drive. I should not drink until I am old enough too, even then I will not drink and drive. I promise all my friends and family too because I want them to be proud of me. I am making this promise because I do not want to grow up and have a lot of hangovers.

I can keep this promise by staying away from people that will ask me if I want to use drugs. I can also avoid this by working around the house, playing sports such as baseball, and helping other people. I should hang out with nice people that won’t ask me to do drugs. If someone does ask me I will simply just say no, but I will say it nicely and assertively. If some one repeatedly asked me I would not say anything and walk away.

I should keep this promise because if I use drugs under age I probably won’t get accepted into some collages because I would have a bad record. I want to have a good record so I can go to a good college and get a good job. Also if I did drink and drive I could kill or injure some one, and I would have to think about it for the rest of my life. I would probably go to jail for a long time. If that happened I probably wouldn’t get a good job or get into a good college because of drugs. If you don’t do drugs you are more likely to succeed in life and be happier too. My mom followed all the rules and she has a nice happy life.

Why I'm Going To Say No To Drugs

Katie

I promise my friends that I won't do drugs. I like to play and hang out with my friends. When I get older I don't want to see one of my friends drinking then attempting to drive. I would try to help prevent that from happening. Hopefully my friends would do the same for me. I know I wouldn't want to be responsible for the death of someone else. That's why I promised my friends I won't do drugs.

I will keep my promise by picking good friends. I won't pick a gang or a group of people who always act like they're on drugs. A gang is any group of young people whose members take part in acts of violence and other activities that break the law. I will pick friends I know I can trust. If I was ever offered any beer or liquor I would say no. If that person kept asking me I would talk to my friends or family. I will also make good decisions. I won't go to parties that have beer or liquor as the drinks. That's what I'll do to keep my promise.

This promise is important to me because I want to be an actress when I grow up. If I do drugs I might not get accepted as one. If I do become an actress I might be under a lot of pressure. A pressure that might come from being famous could be media pressure. Media is any means of communication that reaches or influences large numbers of people. Pressure is a force or influence on you by someone your age. There are four kinds of pressure. They are peer pressure, personal pressure, family pressure, and media pressure. If I stared in a movie I would make sure it's not about violence or encouraging people to do drugs. If I were to star in a commercial I would make it a public service announcement. In that public service announcement I would say something about what drugs could do to you when used wrongly and the risk you take when using them. That's why this promise is important to me.

I Promise to Say No to Drugs: D.A.R.E. Essay

By Anja

I promise myself to say no to drugs. It seems nice to live a drug free life. If I say no to drugs I can participate in sports. Some things I can do to not think about drugs are sports, reading books, watching TV, and other hobbies. If you don’t do drugs you are more likely to succeed in life and will live a happier life. I like being happy not depressed all the time. Sometimes people don’t think that one smoke or drink will hurt, but it does. They get addicted and can’t stop using it. People buy so many drugs and they waste their money. They could buy something useful with their money. This is why I promise myself not to do drugs.

I will keep my promise by picking good friends. I will pick good friends that can be my support system. A support system is a person or group of people that help you make the right decision. They will help me say no and viseversa.

This is an important promise to keep if I want to have a good career and make money. I will want to have a drug free life so I can be focused on work to support my family, and pay bills and taxes. Also, if I want a good job I have to get into a good college, and if I want to do that I have to be educated. If I do drugs I won’t be educated. If I am not educated I won’t get into college and if I don’t get into college I won’t get a good job. If I don’t get a good job I will be living on the street and spending the little money I have on drugs. When I am older and have a job I will be thankful that I made this promise.

My Drug Free Promise: D.A.R.E. Essay

Haley

I promise myself that I will not ever drink or do drugs because I want to live a long life and stay healthy. I also promise my family and friends too because they tell me not to do drugs. In D.A.R.E. I learned that smoking and drinking can cause a lot of harmful things to my body. Smoking can cause things like brain damage, cancer, and lung disease.

I’m going to keep this promise by staying away from people with drugs and getting involved in sports and other things to keep me healthy. I also don’t want to do drugs because I don’t want to injure others or myself. I also learned to say no in an assertive way if someone wants me to do drugs.

I think this promise is important to keep because I don’t want to get hooked on drugs and alcohol and get in trouble. I also think it’s important because I could live longer and do more things if I stay healthy. I learned how to say no in an aggressive way because you disregard other people’s rights, and I learned not to be passive about saying no because the person might get you to try the drug or alcohol. I learned that if you do do drugs you will probably lose interest in school, get sick, make a lot of wrong choices, you could injure yourself or others and you might even die. And if someone is pressuring you to do something, make an excuse. If you take a risk you could end up in the hospital. Some people join gangs and they make the wrong choices like doing drugs and hurting people. That could make them go to jail.

I think D.A.R.E. is a very good program for everyone because it teaches you to be drug free.

I Promise to Say No to Drugs: D.A.R.E. Essay

Ashley H.

I promise to say no to drugs. My promise will go to friends, family, and myself. The reason that I’m making this promise is it’s for my future. If I do drugs it can cause bad things. Doing drugs can cause bad grades, bad health, and get me kicked off a team. Also doing drugs can lead to big trouble if they over rule me. Drugs can get you or me killed and maybe other people. If I do drunk driving I need to realize that I can put my life at risk, and it could put others at risk.

I can keep my promise by picking good friends. I’ll make friends who don’t do drugs, and friends who won’t force me to do drugs. Another way I can keep my promise is by making good decisions. If I’m in a position whether to do drugs and hurt myself, or walk away, I’d chose walk away. Even if they call me a chicken, it doesn’t matter what they think, it’s what I think. Also a way to keep my promise is to talk to people I trust. My friends and family are people in whom I trust with my heart. I feel as if they will listen and help me in a decision of doing drugs or any thing.

This promise to my family, friends, and also myself is important to keep because I must think of my future. My dream of a certain career could drift away if I decide to do drugs. But if I keep my promise my dream will float towards me. If my dream comes floating towards me id say it’s a better decision.

I Promise to Say No to Drugs: D.A.R.E. Essay

I promise my parents, my hockey team, and me I will not do drugs under age. Like smoke or do any other harmful drugs to my body. And if I do I deserve to be kicked off my hockey team. I chose those people because I want them to be proud of me, and because I do not want to grow up and smoke a pack of cigarettes every day, like some people I no. And because I wouldn't want to let my hockey down.

I will keep my promise by choosing my friends wisely and where I hang out after school. And if I ever get asked to use drugs I will say in a confident voice no. And the friends I would chose would not be standing around doing drugs, I would never chose a friend like that. And if I have to smoke or do drugs to be cool I do not want to be cool.

I will keep this promise because; I want to stay drug free all my life. And I do not want my lungs to turn black and abuse drugs and meet officer Torrey on the road. And because I do not want to let every body down. And because I would not get to play my favorite sports like Hockey, Baseball, spring hockey and football. And I probably would not have very nice or good friends. And If I did do drugs probably would not get a very good job, because I could not go to collage because I did drugs, so that is why I don’t want to do drugs. And I would never for fill my dream to be the best hockey player ever. So that is why every body should do drugs, because they mess up your whole life.

I Will Say No to Drugs: D.A.R.E. Essay

Kailani

I promise myself, my parents, and God that I will never use or abuse drugs because they can cause diseases like lung cancer. I will not smoke or use marijuana. I will also never drive after I have drunk beer. Especially if I’m not old enough to drive. I will never get drunk or drink before I am old enough. I will also never let anyone push me into using drugs. I won’t break this promise for anyone.

I will keep my promise by staying away from people that smoke. I will choose alternatives which are different choices you have to stay drug free and trouble free. Also I won’t let anyone push me or intimidate me to smoke. I will get involved in other activities or sports to keep me healthy. To keep my promise I will also remember what kinds of things drugs can do to you. I don’t want to face the consequences of drugs. I will be confident or assertive about saying "NO" to drugs. I will declare my own rights while still respecting the rights of others. I will try my hardest to keep this promise to myself, my parents, and God that I will never use or abuse drugs. I will know who and what I am.

This is an important promise to keep because it could keep me and others safe. I don’t want to harm anyone from taking way too many drugs. If I didn’t keep this promise I might abuse drugs too much. I could get really sick or even die. This is an important promise to keep because doing drugs too much could harm your body. Doing drugs underage could harm your body even worse. Plus some drugs are illegal until you’re a certain age. Some drugs are illegal to everyone. It is also hard to get off drugs once you start them. People who are hooked on drugs need drugs to go to sleep and do other activities. People get dizzy and throw up sometimes after they try to quit doing drugs. I don’t want this to happen to me. I will try my hardest not to get involved in doing drugs. I don’t want drugs to interfere with my life!

I Promise to Say No to Drugs: D.A.R.E. Essay

Katlyn

The people I promise are my parents. I promise my parents, because they expect me to do well in school, and if I do drugs I can’t do that. I think they deserve my promise because they care about me and trust me. If I do drugs I may not have my parents care and trust anymore. Another thing is if I don’t do drugs I will get a better job and have more money. Most of all though I’ll be happy and healthy. I have big plans for my future. I don’t want to ruin those plans with drugs and live a life on the streets. I don’t want people to take care of me by my late 30’s. I don’t want to live my life in the streets because I spent all my money on drugs. If I look at a life with drugs and then look at a life without drugs I know which one I’m gonna pick. The life without drugs.

The way I will keep my promise is by making good decisions. I will say no to things that can hurt me and pick the right friends. I will tell my parents who I’ll be with, what I’ll be doing, where I’m at and when I’ll get there. If I stick to my promise I should have a good life. By doing these things I will have a healthy body. All I really have to do to keep this promise is say no to drugs.

This promise is important to keep because if I say yes to drugs my shot at having a good job when I get older is pretty much gone. If I say yes to drugs I could get caught and go to jail. Then that would go on my permanent record. Which means I wouldn’t be able to get a good job and I would have no money. If I look at it that way I know I’m making the right choice.
