Third grade students enjoyed their trip to get salmon eggs. Here are their comments written in their own words.

At the Manistee River Weir I learned that salmon have over 1000 eggs in them. I learned that when salmon get old they turn white. I learned when the fish are male they get slimy. Salmon now were to lay there eggs by smelling. They get the egg by putting a little bolling thing in there stomick. Then they push a button and all of the eggs come out. ...by Katilih

When we went you could take an egg and it would pop. When we went we saw two dead. We saw them going up the ladder. We saw them cut open the fish and get a sample. They said seven of the fish had the B.K.L disease witch means bacterial kidney disease. The eggs were orange. We got to see the heart to, and the kidney. ... by Chris
