Reading Party
Olivia

We had a reading party on Friday. I really did not want to read Big Red but I did. I found out that it is not a bad book after all. It is about a dog and a boy that are trying to catch a bear. I’m not going to tell you the rest so you can find out for your self.

We got to have snacks. We also got to bring in pillows, beanbag chairs and sleeping bags. We also got to have drinks. We all got to sit where we wanted to. I had a lot of fun.

On February 1 2002, we had our Reading Party. I am supposed to be reading '' Number the Stars'' but I didn't want to. Now I am reading ''The Good Great Thing.'' It is really a good book because the characters pop out of the book at you while they are playing their part in the book. They also have to run back and forth on the pages to get where they need to go.

For the party I brought in a beanbag chair to sit on.

Travis and I sat on the beanbag together. He was reading the book ''Bridge To Teribithia''. It sounds like a pretty good book to me. I really liked the party.

We had a reading party with Mrs. Lyman. We got to read and eat and drink. We got to bring some of our own stuff to lay on and get comfortable on. During the reading party I was reading the Bridge to teribithia. I brought in a sleeping bag. I ate a bunch of different chips and I had orange pop. I think that the reading party was fun I would like to do it again. … Travis

On Friday February 1, 2002 Mr. Finan’s class had a reading party. Some people got to bring a snack or a drink. Everyone brought a pillow a blanket and a book. The reading party was only an hour long, but it was fun. I think the reading party was much better than reading in our reading Explore book or doing something boring. On the day we had the reading party I was happy because we didn’t have to do something very hard or very boring. …by Jackie

On Friday we had a reading party.
Kaylyn

At the reading party all we did is eat chips, and popcorn and read.

The book I read is called Bud, not Buddy. The book is about a 10-year old boy named Bud Caldwell whose mother died 4 years ago. The day before she died she home a blue poster with a man on it playing a big fiddle. The man's name is Herman E. Calloway. Bud thinks this man is his father. Now bud is off to find him. Between fish head guards, and vampires he verily makes it alive.

That is what I read at the reading party Friday. It was really fun.

Last Friday in school we had a party. Our class had the party on February 1, 2002. We had the party because I reading level went up and Mrs. Lyman our reading teacher was pleased with how well we were doing. When we first started the party everyone picked there spot on the floor were they were going to eat, and sit. My favorite part about the party was when Mr. Finan came in and said wow want to take over my teaching because I can never get it this quite. Then a few minutes later Mrs. Lyman said time to get a snack and everyone just ran to the table and started to fight to see who get first dibs on food. After about five minutes Mrs. Eldridge came in and took pictures of the class. She took pictures of Andrew and me eating and reading at the same time. It was a fun and cool party.

We had our Reading Party on Friday the 1st and we had a blast! Mrs. Lyman let us bring in our pillows, sleeping bags and slippers. I thought it was a lot of fun!

When Mrs. Lyman said to come up and get something to eat, everyone went running up there. We went through 3 bags of chips in like 5 minutes. We had a lot of pop and before we left, most of it was gone!

I read a book called "The Transformation of Roscoe Wizzle" It was a really good book, but it was strange! This guy named Roscoe Wizzle turns into a giant bug!

The Reading Party was a lot of fun! I hope we can do it again soon.
