Today was our first day on the trip to Colorado. We went with our friends, and then we drove to Chicago in a car and then went to an Aquarium and saw some fish, octopus, sharks and eels. To bad the people in the 1840’s didn’t have any cars or Aquarium’s. After that we went to a café called the rainforest café and the had some very good food there also, and on are way back to my Uncle Joe’s house to sleep we saw the Sears Tower and it sure was big. Too bad people back then didn’t have big buildings like we do now. When we got to my Uncle’s house we played pool and also swam in a pool, and then went to sleep.

When we woke up the next day we went to an airport with a lot of airplanes. People back then didn’t have airplanes. Then we flew to Denver Colorado and then drove to Beaver Creek to ski.

The Trip to Colorado

Hello, the trip was excellent! We had soooo much fun. The first thing we did on the trip was go to Shedd’s aquarium in Chicago. It was so neat because there were octopuses and piranhas which were REALLY cool. We also saw a giant turtle and some eels, but what disappoints me was that there was not one of those rooms that you just walk through and fishies were above you and to your right and left but there were like… the walls. We also went to the oceanarium and watched the penguin, otter, beluga whale, and dolphin show. The otters just swam around and touched a specified color band, the penguins acted normal, the dolphins did awesome jumps and the thing where it looks like they’re standing up and they’re moving backwards, the beluga whales swam to specified targets like the otters did and one did a jump… once.

David’s uncles house was next. By the time we got there It was pretty late, so we put our luggage in the doorway and headed for the recreational items. The first thing we did at David’s uncles house was play pool, after a while though Derek and I decided to go swim in the large indoor pool. When we got in from the pool it was time to sleep. David and I got to sleep on the pullout.

Next morning we woke up bright and early, had some doughnuts and were on our way. After about ten min. (I think) we got to the airport. Surprisingly there was no line at the baggage check… almost. The detector sounded positive when I stepped through the gate and they decided to wand me, nothing was on me and I wound up getting through. On the plane there were pillows, headphones, and even TVs in the backs of the seats! A couple of minutes before we started to decline David and I fought each other on our gameboys, I won.

When we landed we drove for 2 hours then stopped at a Burger King drove for another half-hour at settled in at the condo in Beaver Creek. Later that night David’s cousin Sean came and took us to the pool. Next day was the coldest day skiing, not to mention I went down my first black at Beaver Creek that day, Tomahawk. The next couple of days it gradually got warmer and the weather was good during these days, we stuck to the green and blue hills and the mountain for these days though because Tomahawk was boring and all of the rest were so hard, wait we did go down one black during the days- Moonshine Terrain Park. On the second to last day at the mountain the weather and temperature were continually good, but that day was not the best day of my life. The reason for that is my dad fell on me and broke my poles. The last day at the mountain was the worst. It was the second coldest, our goggles fogged up, and we couldn’t ski without them (although we did try for a bit, at the end of the day I had icicles hanging from my hair. This day I went down my very first double black, one of the hardest at the mountain- Goshawk. This day we drove to Denver and stayed at Sean’s apartment for a while, then we went to the Blue Bonnet Café. After we ate we went to our motel, stayed the night, woke up early, had doughnuts, and we were on our way!

After about maybe… 20 minute we got to the airport. We rode the subway to the security station and we had to wait an hour or two to get to the baggage check. After that we ran to the plane barely making it. We got on the plane only to find out that the flight was delayed for an hour. Plus we were spread all over the plane and I had to sit next to some ladies. Not including the delay the flight was an hour and thirty-eight minutes long.

When we got off of the airplane we waited an hour in the airport for Mrs. Fisher’s sister to pick us up. It turns out that their phone was off of the hook. We drove to a Burger King, stopped and ate for a while, only to find a five hour drive home through a blizzard. When we got to David’s house it was too dangerous to go anywhere, so we spent the night there. Next morning my dad and I took off for home. We stopped only for sandwiches and still it only took us only half an hour to get home! When we got home we rejoiced and lived happily ever after.

Trip to Colorado

Last Friday we started our trip to Colorado at 9 in the morning. and got to Beaver Creek about 7 our time and 5 their time. First we drove to Chicago which took us about 5 hours. And when we got to Chicago we went to Shed Aquarium. I took pictures of fish like sea horses, sharks, ells, and perinea's. They were very cool. Then we left the place and when we were walking back to the car I seen the Sears Tower and I took a pictures of the tower to. It was huge. then we went to Aaron's aunt's house and it was huge too. They had an indoor pool and the pool was very big and warm. They had a hot tub too. Then we woke up and went to O hare airport in Chicago and we got on the air plain. It was huge there was TVs on the plain and the channels were Nick, Discovery and Disney. The air plain was at least 2 hours and we landed at Denver Colorado and we drove an extra hour to Beaver Creek and we un packed and went swimming in the out door pool and the pool had a hot tub. The pool was heated but not heated enough, but I still swam in it.

Going Home from Colorado
By Derek

Friday night we left Beaver Creek. We drove in a van, that was big enough to hold 8 people but we had 7 and had to use that space for a bag. The bags surrounded us in every way we looked. They were on top of us, under us and all around us, it seemed! (Very crowded) The roads were very slippery. We saw at least 10 car crashes and the thing that seemed odd was that all the 4WD cars were in the ditch or were in fender benders. Back in the olden days when they were driving covered wagons I don’t know how they made it through the wintertime without 4WD. Finally we got to Sean and Becky’s apartment and waited for Sean to call from work, and he never called so we called him at work. We told him to meet us at the Blue Bonnet Mexican food restaurant; he met us there. In the olden days when they were traveling in covered wagons, they would not get through the weather that easy to get to a restaurant, so they probably had to hunt for their food. I had nachos with cheese, and a sprite. Bet you couldn’t have nachos in the olden days or sprite. After we left the restaurant we went to our motel called The Drury Inn and stayed there for the night. Then we woke up and went to the airport and waited in the security line for 2 hours and had to run to the plain and we made it . Then we got on the plain and we were just about ready to take off and they announced one hour delay, because of high winds in Chicago, so we sat on the runway for an hour. I would not want to be one of the traveler’s back in olden days, because of the high winds in Chicago. But they would not know about it because they do not have high tech stuff like we do now. Like radar’s, and planes, cars, airports, and restaurants.

The saga continues……
