Recycling Trailer
Stacey

On Saturday September, 29 I was at recycling trailer. We went to a lot of places to load stuff. We went to Portage point inn, Easy mart, The blue slipper and the hardware store. Mr. Porter was the only dad with a truck. So we got to take turns riding with him. When we got back with all this paper and cardboard, we would bagged it or toes it up so Mr.. Eldridge and he could smooched it so we could have more room to put more up there.

Then Alex and me were in a big box filling bags. I think the post office has the most because they have a lot of bins of paper. I hope that we have recycling next year.

Recycling
Andrew C,

Recycling has been the best way to lower the cost of new landfills. My favorite thing is to take paper to our school recycling trailer! I have a lot of fun taking paper from people. A lot more natural environment will survive in the wild and the most important is the people will survive!!

News on the last recycle trailer
by Alexi

On September 30th, Paige, Alex, Stacey, Derek, Aaron, Lucas, and Ryan worked at the recycle trailer with Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge. They worked hard filling bags with paper and breaking down boxes. Mr. Porter drove three of the kids at a time to the Blue slipper, Portage Point Inn, EZ Mart, and the Ace Hardware store, and they collected boxes from each place.

When Alex, Paige, and Stacey went to the Blue Slipper, there were so many boxes they had to take two trips. They also had to take two trips to Portage Point Inn. While the kids were unloading the boxes from the Blue Slipper, they found a few carrots, mushrooms, and pizza cheese!

Back at the trailer, Alex and Stacey went inside a big box filled with paper and put the paper in smaller bags. Each time they would finish a bag, they would give it to Mrs. Eldridge and she would stack the bags up on one side of the trailer. They would break down boxes and give them to Mr. Eldridge, who would stack them up on the other side of the trailer.

The kids also helped the customers unload their paper and cardboard. The put it into the trailer and stacked it up. They got some lemonade or pop from Mrs. Eldridge to drink when they weren’t busy. They had lots of fun. It was a great day at the recycle trailer.

Recycling, by Ryan

It all started on September 29, 2001 at the trailer. Me and a bunch of people were helping at the trailer putting boxes and stuff away because we are trying to make money to go on the SS Badger. Also we do the trailer to have fun. I bet you don't know why it is fun. Well first you can stomp on boxes and can stack mail and throw it in to sacks and that is why we have the trailer at Onekama.

Helping with horses

By Kayleigh

Volunteering for the Lions club to raise money for people with disabilities is very fun. I volunteer for the Lions club every chance I get. At this years fair I volunteered to help a lady with her two horses for kids to ride. The little kids rode the little miniature pony named Buff and the big kids rode the big horse Rebel. We raised 115 dollars for people with disabilities. After that I was in the parade running with the miniature pony in 95-degree weather. I had my picture taken in the newspaper. Next year Mary Vanvorp and me are going to ride horses in the parade. I had a lot of fun volunteering. I is cool voluntering. I think more people should volunteer it might help people in the long run.
