Photographs from the Arcadia's
Third Grade Classrooms

October 1999

Here are the witches flying through Mrs. Bentley's class. Note their shriveled apple heads.

Here we are creating our witches.

Lucie, Drew, Kelsey and Ryan show off their witches. The heads were made from apples.

Cassandra is placing tissue paper scales on her fish during Ms. Woolman's art class.

Crystal and Cynthia are working during Ms. Woolman's art class. In the end we will have colorful fish to hang.
But will they look like the fish that will hatch
from our fish eggs?

Ryan happily prepares for Halloween

Children in Mrs. Catanese's class wore their hats and donated $.50 to support "Make a Difference Day". The money will go to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Relief.

This is the culmination of our "Pumpkin Project". After the math classes estimated the number of seeds in the pumpkin, the pumpkin was sut open and the seeds were counted. The winner of the estimating, the median winner, and the week's leader for each third grade class, then mixed up a pumpkin cake for lunch. Olivia Skylar and Aaron are shown washing the dishes after mixing the cake with the help of Mrs. Cook. "It was soo Gooood!"

Math Class --Sarina is showing the class how she worked and solved her math problem.

Page, Ashley and Chad work on their world map.

Mrs. Bentley's students, Skylar and Sarina, drew a map of the continents and oceans during social studies class.

Olivia is excited about her groups map of the world.
