We are a good looking group aren't we? Creating the blocks for the kindness quilt was a really neat experience! The fourth graders prepared sketched ideas ahead of time. They were verygracious in letting the first graders help to adapt their ideas to theactual material blocks. We think they are terrific, and we are lookingforward to seeing the whole quilt put together. (Click on the Photo above to see a larger photograph.)

It is really fun to work with little kids, but I was with Julie Miller who is really fun to work with too. Our word was helpful. We drew a girl sitting on a bench crying and a person comes and says what is wrong and that is what we did for helpful. It was so fun I hope we do it again this year. ...Andria

I really liked making the quilt with the 1st graders because they are funny. My partner was Becky. Our word was friends. We had 3 people in our group. There was Becky the 1st grader, Cynthia the 4th grader and I the 4th grader. We all had a fun week with red ribbon week. ...Paige

When our class went to Mrs. Jordan's class I had a blast! My partner in my class was travis and our partner in Mrs. Jordan's class was Tanner and our word for the quilt was kindness. The whole point of the quilt was how we could act and what we could say to stick to being a good friend. The markers sort of spread out on the quilt but you could understand what it said and what the picture meant. I can't wait until the quilt of quilts is made so every body else and I can see all of the other persons drawings and stuff. The quilt will be big I'm sure and the first graders will probably enjoy it too. ...Levi

I loved to work with the kids. Alex and me had a good time working on the quilts. We used both of our ideas and we put them together. When I first got there I gave Alex a sticker and a piece of candy. Our quilt said warm hearted. ...Stacey

I really liked doing the quilt squares with the first graders because I work better with other kids. My partner was Louise. She's a real cutie. My friend Olivia was my other partner. Our word was PEACE. That was a very, very fun day. ...Danielle

I really liked making the quilt squares with the little kids. I made a quilt square with Kayla. The word we had to use on the quilt was SHARING. We drew two people sharing a teddy bear. Kayla did a good job I think. Kayla and I made a mess up, but Kayla covered it up with a heart. I can't wait to see what the quilt looks like when it is finished. When our class went to Mrs. Jordan't class to work on the Quilt, I was with Danielle and Louise. We had the word Peace! It was fun. She was good at staying in the lines. I thought that it would not look as good as it looks now. The first grades tried their best and so did the fourth grades. I think the quilt will look good. ...Olivia
