Mrs.Spencer has two sons in Onekama. She has degrees in secretarial and business management. Mrs. Spencer likes to bake, collect beanies, and work on the Internet when she has the time.

Onekama/Arcadia Schools: We Have Great Volunteers

These volunteers work with students Grades K-4 weekly on academic skills. We appreciate their time and support in educating our children.

Mrs. Kathy Zajac

Program Coordinator

Mrs. Gentz is a graduate of Onekama. She has 10 children and 30 grandchildren.In the past she has worked at Onekama as a teacher's aide in math. She enjoys golf, reading, making hook rugs, and singing in the church choir.

Mr.Zupin is a graduate of Onekama and has three children, Ashley, Justin, and Jordon. He is a very active volunteer in our school and member of his church. Mr. Zupin enjoys camping, fishing, bird watching, and working with all children.

Mrs. Hayward has two children attending Onekama. She enjoys fly fishing, quilting, crafts, and reading.

Mrs. Malmgren has two daughters that graduated from Onekama. She and her husband are retired grandparents and love to travel. Mrs. Malmgren also like to read, sew and garden. She is a volunteer for Kid's Hope, U.S.A.

Mrs. Pomeroy has three children in 7th, 5th, and Kindergarten. She likes reading, yoga, walking, and biking. Even though she is busy working with her own children, she is eager to work with students at Onekama.

Mrs. Miller is the director of Kid's Hope, U.S.A. that mentors children at risk. She has 6 grandchildren of her own and enjoys gardening, reading, cooking, baking, and children. Mrs.Miller is also a mentor herself for kids at Onekama.

Mrs. Smith is a busy parent of three young children. She and her family live in Arcadia and own the Arcadia Market. Mrs. Smith loves to play outside with her children. She enjoys working with children and watching them grow.

Mrs. Graf has two children and one grandchild. She works with Kindergarteners in Onekama and substitutes in our elementary office and library. Mrs. Graf enjoys crafts, gardening, and working with children.

Mrs. Sedelmaier has two children here in Onekama, Justin and Brooke. She enjoys needlecraft, baking, painting, and gardening.

Mrs. Frederick has one son in 2nd Grade. She and her family are residents of Arcadia and volunteers at Arcadia School. Mrs. Frederick likes gardening, swimming, and riding bikes with her family.

Mrs. Schlief is a retired elementary teacher. She enjoys reading, sewing, word games and singing. Mrs. Schlief works with 3rd Grade students in Arcadia.

Mr. Zupin is help Kindergarteners on their math skills. He serves as Mr. Kudlack's "egg hatching" consultant, and as Mrs. Eldridge's "recycling trailer" chairman.

Mrs. LaDuke reads with First Graders. She has worked as a volunteer in our schools for many years. Mrs. LaDuke likes to read, bake, garden, and travel.

Mrs. Kahl is listening to Brooke read in First Grade. She is a retired teacher from Onekama/Arcadia. Mrs. Kahl loves reading, needlecraft, bird watching, and computers.

Mrs. Herkelrath is working with Second Graders in Arcadia.

Mrs. Malmgren, Kids Hope, mentors a First Grader every week.

Mrs.Miller, the coordinator of Kids Hope, works with a First Grader.

Mrs. Purdom of Kids Hope is mentoring a Fourth Grader.

Mr. Yankee from Kids Hope spends one hour each week with this Fourth Grader.

Mrs.Graf works with Kindergarteners in the morning twice a week.

Mrs. Spencer volunteers in First Grade.
