I loved working on the recycling trailer. It was so much fun. We got to help the people unload their trunks and stuff. I also liked stacking bags of newspaper and jumping on the cardboard to smoosh it. ...Amber

At the recycling trailer I helped out three times on Saturday. It's fun. This is what happened. A customer would come and we would go and get their paper and put it with the things it goes with. I got to jump in the boxes and smash things down. I also got to jump on top of the cardboard and smash it down. It was so much fun. ...Jackie

I liked the recycle trailer because we got to go to a lot of places and get their recycling. Another thing I liked was when the customers came and we had to get their recycling. After that we had to sort it all. It was really fun because I got to jump on a pile of stringy paper. The recycling trailer was a fun job. ...Sarah

I had to go on top of the pile of cardboard and paper. Then I had to push most of the cardboard into the back of the trailer. I had to go to EZ Mart to get more paper and cardboard. I had to throw paper bags full of newspaper into a big pile so they didn't fall over. ...Brett

August 26 was our last day working at the recycle trailer. A great team of parents and fifth graders turned out to work during the four Saturdays of August. Mr. Zupin and Mrs. Eldridge thank all the helpers.

Good Job, Fifth Grade! We did so well we decided to do it again.

Recycling in November

Check last year's fifth grade website and you will learn what a great trip we had and why we are anxious to earn the money to go again.
Badger Trip 2000.

In August Fifth Graders worked to help raise money for the June 2001 Badger Trip to Wisconsin. Last year's fifth graders collected 7000 pop cans and bottles. This year we earned more than $500 at the recycle trailer during the month of August. Fifth grade parent Dennis Zupin volunteered to be the chairman of the recycle committee. He did a really great job!

While working on the recycle trailer, we helped a lot of people. What we had to do was fill the trailer with cardboard and paper. We had cardboard to the right and paper to the left. In the end we made $500. The reason we did the trailer was to make money for our trip to Wisconsin on the S,S. Badger. ...Clyve

I liked the recycle trailer because we got to do stuff for people. I stuck a whole bag of garbage in Mr. Zupin's car. We also got to play around in the paper shreddings and it was a lot of fun. I also liked stacking all the newspapers. Some people came and brought huge amount of stuff. Some people came and had only one thing. When I was smashing cardboard I slipped and fell on my bobbin and we all started to laugh. ...Kelsey

In the recycle trailer there was a lot of cardboard and paper. We found some cool magazines. When we were in the recycle trailer a box broke and all the paper fell out so we had to pick it all up again. There were a lot of phone books. We had to take a shed full of paper and put it in Mr. Zupin's van. We had the van stacked to the ceiling. ...Jim

When I was doing the recycle trailer, I helped the community be a better place. On the trailer I had jobs. My jobs were to help the customers and go help my dad pick up recyclable from Onekama. ...Justin
