Dear Christic Bleck,

Do you compost? You should. It is great for the soil. It helps plants grow better than before. If you leave an old pile of leaves in a compost pile it will rot away and give good soil.

Bugs eat the composting piles too. They will eat plants, leaves, and even old animals. If you don't make compost piles a lot of bugs will leave.

Good Bye,

Carmen Hayes

Dear News Advocate,

People should recycle. They could even clean their house by recycling. They can clean by bringing old news papers and magazines to the recycling trailer and giving them to the fifth grade class. People can empty those papers off their shelf, so they will have a whole new shelf in their house

Our Fifth Grade class at Onekama School will raise money if you bring stuff to the recycling trailer on Saturday morning. Kids can raise money from the recycling trailer, but they need your help because it depends on how many recyclable they get. Our class has about $800 all ready. We need to get $1500 so we can all go on the S.S. Badger and visit Wisconsin.

Sincerely yours,
Justin

Dear News Advocate,

I think that letting wolves in to the Yellowstone is right. It is good because wolves are endangered. Do you know why wolves are endangered...people!

Another reason is that they are good for the Yellowstone ecosystem, because they keep the number of bison, deer and elk down. That was the main reason that they were reintroduced. I think it's a good idea.

Now you know why I want to save the awesome animals called wolves.

Sincerely yours,

Clyve

Dear Casey Carpenter,

I read about the recycle trailer in the News Advocate. I hope somebody takes over because the Lakeshore people are quitting. But we still need to save our environment. We could do that by getting another group to save it. I hope it will work.

People should recycle because it will save our trees. Hundreds of trees get cut down each day. We could save those trees by reusing paper and we could also reuse tin cans and plastic milk bottles. This would save a lot of our environment.

Another reason is that it will kill animals if you don't recycle. When the bull dozzer comes it will run over the animals nests and it might run over the grown up animals too. So please help us and recycle.

Sincerely,

Andy Allen

Dear Casey Carpenter,

I think if you have any thing to recycle at home, then you should recycle it. One reason I want you to recycle is because my classmates and I would like to save up enough money to go on the SS Badger. We need to make about $1500 dollars so even if its two sheets of paper, we'll take it. We need all we can get.

One other reason we would like you to recycle is because we know how messy your house can get with all those old papers and stuff in it. So all you have to do is bring them down to the recycle trailer in Onekama. We would appreciate it very much if you would.

The other reason why it's good to recycle is because the stuff you recycle goes right to the company, and they make new paper. So if you have any thing, bring it down to the fifth graders. Thank you.

Sincerely yours,

Amber

Dear Christie Bleck,

Let The wolves roam in the woods to keep the population of deer and other animals normal. With out wolves the population would go ballistic. They put wolves back in Yellowstone. With out wolves Yellow Stone is not complete.

If wolves are allowed to roam, that would help make wolves less endangered. There's a lot of people who try to kill the wolves for their heads and put them on the wall like a trophy. It is now illegal to shoot the wolves. I would never shoot a wolf. Wolves would never hurt me.

Sincerely yours,

Kieran
