Fifth Grade Concert
Shannon

Our first band concert was December 19, 2000. We all got there at about 6:30 p.m. Everyone was in the classroom practicing there instruments getting ready for our first band concert. We had 5 songs to that we had to play. They were Hot Cross Buns, Au Claire De La Lune, Down by the Station Country Walk, and the last and hardest Merrily We Roll Along. 5 minutest before the concert our principal took us down to the gym. To play for the first time. Jamie was first in line. At first she went down the wrong row. Half way down she found out no one was behind her. She ran to her seat. We were ready for the concert. We played good for the first concert, but next time we will be a lot better

BAND CONCERT

My class had our first band concert on the 19th. I play the saxophone. The notes that were in the songs that we played were B (the first key) and A (the first and second key down). We also played G (the first, second, and third key) C (just the second key). Last but not lest D (all six keys down).

The songs that we played were Hot cross buns, Merrily we row along, Country walk, and down by the station. I forget the fifth song Almost everybody was scared, but when I walk in I was not scared anymore.

I think the hardest song was Merrily we row along because we had to repeat it. I got to watch my brother play (he’s in 6th grade) and watch my friend play (she’s in 7th ). And got to watch my sister play (she’s in 10th). It was very fun.

In the concert the music was… enchanting, it was as if a gentle breeze was blowing across my face on a hot summer day . In the beginning I was scared, nervous, and excited all at the same time, there was so big of a crowd out there that I forgot all about being excited and nervous I was scared.

A couple of times I had to remind the other percussionists to switch instruments. When we were done we had to go and sit in the bleachers but I had to leave my bells there. In the bleachers a bunch of people dropped their stuff on the ground. Like books and trombone slides and flutes and straps, overall the concert was great. I liked it a lot.

Our whole fifth grade did good

When I went to the band concert I liked playing my instrument for the crowd. We did a pretty good job, but on one song we had our timing kind of bad. After we played we went in the bleachers and had to watch the rest of the concert. A lot of in peoples instrument parts fell down and some people had their whole instrument fall down. But I was careful and only my neck strap fell. After the concert my mom said our whole fifth grade did good and I felt good.

I had a band concert last night. It was my first band concert ever with instruments. I was so nerves and excited. When I got to the classroom I got my instruments together and wormed up. Then we lined up and went down to the gym. There was a huge crowd I went to my set and waited for Mrs. Schwarz. She came in the gym and said hi are you ready to play we said "yes".

We got ready to play hot, cross, buns. Are instruments were up and we played. We were kind of good. I thought we were good but the other bands were better then us but I need to practice a little more. Then I will sound better!

After the band concert was done I went back to the classroom and put my instrument away. Then I went to the gym and got some punch and cookies. After that I said good bye and left. It was fun I can’t wait till the next band concert!

Band Concert

I had a band concert last night. It was my first time performing with my instrument. When we got led in to the gym it was exciting. We got to play first and it was weird playing Hot Cross Buns in front of the audience and it was embarrassing playing Merrily We Roll Along. We screwed up and we were playing fast, and I lost my place then I caught up.

After we were done performing we went up to the bleachers and listened to the others play. The 6th graders were better than we were because they practice for two years and they are older than we are.

I thought that I did a good job but I could practice a little more. I liked playing in the band concert. I glad I’m in fifth grade.

Yesterday was are first band concert. We practiced for a few weeks. All of us had to meet in are classroom at 6:30 so we could warm-up and get ready. We were the first ones to play our instruments. Ms.Shwarz our band teacher told us to dress nicely so we did. We played five songs they were hot cross buns, au Claire de la lune, down by the station, country walk, and merrily we row along. I think we played good and dressed nice. I play the clarinet. We weren’t as good as the high school kids but that is because it’s just are first year and we are learning.

At the band concert it was vary fun when we played we did an ok job but we were still not as good as the other bands. We played four or five songs. After we played we went up to the bleachers and watched all of the other bands play. We got to watch the sixth seventh grad and eighth grad and then the high school band. While we where watching one of the Trombones slides fell down in the bleachers and a saxophone dropped his neck thing. The gym was really hot I kept on thinking about how cool it was out side and wanted to go sledding or something. When I finally got home I went strait to bed.

Band Consort

When we had are consort last night it went vary well for are first time. We played hot cross buns, country walk; Marilee we go along, and down by the station and one more but I cannot remember what it was called. I think it was a Spanish song. There was a key that was way off key. It was Marilee we go along. Some kids were too fast, some were to slow, some were just unbelievable. I think the 12 graders did a much better job than we did.

My first band concert

My first band concert was on Tuesday the 19 December 2000. We had to warm up in are room first. The room was really loud. There were Clarinets, Crumpets (Ms. Name for Trumpets and Corinets), Trombones, Saxophones, one Baritone, and Flutes. I was really excited, but also kind of nervous. One reason to be nervous was that we were first. I would have preferred to play nay spot except for first. Another was that there were a lot of people there. Are first two songs were easy, but the next to was hard. The last one (witch was the longest) was kind of hard. The sixth grade band was good, the seventh and eighth grade band (witch are combined) were great, and the High School band was great. I think we did good to for are experience, and I’m proud of how I played and there is nothing that can change my mind (except for next years concert).

Our First Band Concert

I think that we did well for our first band concert. We are just starting instruments and we have only been playing sense November. In the band concert I messed up on song 18 then I listened. I got nerves I think everyone was nerve in the being but I felt sick because everyone was taking pictures. But it ended up being so fun. When we were done we sat on the bleachers and watched the other play.
