Note: Over $1000 was raised to help the Orphan's of Uganda. For the second year in a row the NHS students were able to make a sizeable contribution of Soup, Bread and cookies leftover from the dinner to the Choices Safe House where it will feed Mother's and children who are victims of domestic abuse. A box of tie dyed T-shirts were also contributed for these children. As an Onekama citizen who attended the Soup Dinner stated, "How in the world did a small town like Onekama get involved in such a wonderfully meaningful project like this helping these Uganda Orphans when this country is so removed from the lives of these children? What a wonderful learning experience for both the students and the community. I congratulate the efforts of all those involved." Everyone's comments that evening were positive and supportive. The NHS thanks all those who supported our project. |
