Onekama Art Students at work on
Farr Center Community Service Project

Fall 2008: "Working on the mural painting was great. It's nice to know that there will be something here for years to come that I was a part of.  This will always be one of my fondest memories of art class. "
~Tabitha Bellinger

Gabe and I were painting the dark blue color for underneath the water. Ambir came up while I was painting and got yellow paint all down my left leg.  Then the paint waw began. ~Alicia

Residing on the East wall of the Onekama Farr Center is a mural recently painted by the Onekama High School Art students. Students began the mural early in the fall, but due to harsh weather conditions they were unable to complete it until May 16th. Onekama art teacher, Dana Woolman and her students hope the painting will brighten the community and bring it together. ~Kailani

Onekama graduate Carmen Hayes made the design for the mural which was chosen by the Onekama Village Council. They felt it represented the town well. ~Kailani

Working on the mural, students Tabitha Bellinger (12th) and Katlyn MacPherson (11th) are showing off their painting skills. Andria Reckow (12th) holds the paint for Tabitha while she is on the treacherous ladder. ~Tabitha Bellinger

I was done painting and had reached for my hot cocoa when It spilled all over. So I slumped slightly trying to find where the cocoa went. At that point, it was well into the painting, so naturally we were all covered in it. ~Kay

Well, I worked on the mural in my fancy pants and I was tired. I got painted on by Ambir. For some reason she felt compelled to paint on people. The painting aspect was really fun. I'm glad that I could help.  ~Lucas

Tabitha and Kailani  work early in the project
