Hi Onekama,
I was in the class of 1981. I only attended OHS my junior year, but I made many friends that I would like to get back in touch with. If the Class of '81 is having a 20th year reunion this year I would really like to come. Some might remember me because my folks had a dress shop in Manistee called Mick 'N Me, I went to the cosmotology school for vocational 1/2 the day, I had a really obnoxious neon green Pontiac (which is now a popular color again, YUK!) I actually graduated from high school from Charlotte High, down here by Lansing. I got married in December 1981, had a son in April 1982, and a daughter in June 1985. Our son just graduated from DeWitt High School today, June 3, 2001, which is our daughters 16th birthday. I graduated from NMC in Traverse City with an Associates Degree in 1986 and from MSU with a BA and MBA in 1990 in professional accounting. I am a CPA and Financial Planner with my own business now, here in DeWitt. Life is GOOD, but really busy!!!! Anyway, we get up to Onekama every now and then because we have some friends who live there now. I just thought maybe '81 might be having a reunion and maybe I could crash it. Please let me know. Thanks, Annette M (Pier) Wright

Greg Howes "I live in San Francisco in the same apartment building as Doreen Meister. (you can run but you can't hide) I work at a small dotcom with 5 other people www.bizmetric.com. I've only lived here since March 2000 and was previously in Seattle. I really enjoy the city and being actually in the city and not in the suburbs. I've also lived a lot of other places -many of them in other countries. Come visit, I've got stories. email: greg@bizmetric.com

Brent Barto As I attended Onekama Schools, I felt each year that I was an outsider, did not belong there. I volunteer many hours each week during the school year, and several during the summer, to work with Boy Scouts. My position is in between the units and the district, and strive to provide the tools and resources for the Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, and Venturing Crews to be able to present the best program possible. I look closely to make certain that all the kids involved in these units are part of the group, and receive their deserved recognition for their accomplishments. I have been in this position for about seven or eight years now.
While schools and academics are extremely important, I find that these kids learn the value of teamwork, leadership, and learning, as well.
My greatest reward in this is very simple. When a young man has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, or a young man or woman receives their Silver award (equivalent to an Eagle Scout in the Venturing program). It is a great honor also, to be invited to witness the presentation of these awards.
