Onekama Class of 1950 Gathers for Reunion

Some 12 members of the Onekama High School class of 1950 celebrated their 60-year reunion on July 10.

The 27 members of the class graduated on May 17, 1950. Reunion activities included dinner at the Boathouse Grille in Manistee followed by a picnic at the park in Onekama the next day. Several of the classmates met on Monday for breakfast at Stafano’s in Manistee.

Pictures, laughs and memories were shared by those attending -- Agnes Richmond Doher, Betty Powers Roggow, Jeanette Schimke Firman, Larry Bahr, Raymond Hadaway (and wife Joan), Geraldine Koegler Weir (and husband Jim), Eugene Erlandson, Jack Burchard, James McNeil (and wife Shirley), Howard Briske, Shirley Feldhak Thompson and Rita Merkey. Eight members of the classmates are deceased and seven were unable to attend.
