A MERRY CELEBRATION

Families involved in the Leaps & Bounds Early Childhood Program celebrated together on the evening December 21 with a holiday party in the media center of Onekama School. More than 100 guests were on hand to watch a touching production by the Leaps & Bounds children.

Leaps & Bounds Director Amy Brown led the children – including the infants and toddlers in the daycare program, the three and four year old preschoolers, and the school-age children in the aftercare program – in a cooperative “Counting Christmas” presentation. Older students pulled a sleigh carrying infants, and held hands with their preschool buddies.
“The holiday party is an expression of what is best about the Leaps & Bounds program,” explained Brown. “We are here to serve families, and the children who are a part of our program form special connections with children of all ages. We have become one large family that cares about and supports one another.”

The children performed a series of songs, and they were visited by a very special guest. Santa stopped by the party and had time to give each child a turn on his lap and to wish all of the families a very jolly Christmas.

Four-year old Leaps & Bounds preschool students Libby and Sarah  get into the holiday spirit.

The children perform “The Reindeer Twist.”
